A World Book Day Gift from the PTA

The PTA are very excited to let you know that we are donating over 1,100 books to school to celebrate World Book Day! 

We all love to read, and we want to share that joy with the children by providing a really wide selection of books to supplement the reading scheme books we purchased for the school last year. We have books for all ages and tastes, carefully chosen by a member of the PTA who has worked in book publishing for over 15 years.

You want classics? We’ve got them. Bestsellers? We have loads. Adventure, animals, dance, comics, jokes, thrillers, fantasy, reality, it’s all there. We have some lovely dyslexic-friendly books and we’ve thought carefully about the able readers in KS2. We hope your children find some books they love – look out for the ‘Donated by Heavers Farm PTA’ stamp and let us know which ones they’ve enjoyed!

 

Profit from the PTA Christmas Fair

Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make the Christmas fair happen at such short notice.

We made a fantastic profit of £2,066!

Christmas Fair help

We need help organising the Christmas Fair. Can you help on the following dates?

Friday 9th Dec from 3:30pm to do some tasks that are needed e.g making up hampers, ticketing the wine and jam jar tombolas, naming and labelling cuddly toys, making tickets for all stalls, price labels for each stall.
Friday 16th Dec from 4:30 setting up the hall.
We also need help on the day – setting up, helping on stalls and clearing up afterwards. Please contact ebbony@hotmail.co.uk if you can help.

Fireworks night at Park Hill school

There’s still time to buy tickets for the excellent fireworks night at Park Hill school in central Croydon on Friday night.

Tickets cost £5 (under 3’s go free) and half the money goes directly to Heavers Farm PTA so it’s a great way to raise money for our own school.

They always have great food, cheap glow toys and mulled wine, so there’s something for everyone.

We will be selling tickets on Wednesday and Thursday after school – Wednesday will be at the basketball court and Thursday will be outside reception.

Fireworks

The PTA will be selling tickets after school today (Wednesday) for the fireworks display at Park Hill school in Croydon on Friday 4th November.

Those of us who went last year had a great time – it’s a big display with plenty of food stalls and excellent, cheap glow toys.

Tickets are £5 each (under 3’s go free) and half the money will go to Heavers Farm PTA, so it’s a great way to raise money for our own school.

We will be selling tickets on Wednesday 19th October at 3pm near the school office.

Friday 7^th October 2016 at 5.30pm in the Music Room

We would like to invite you all to the Annual General Meeting of the Heavers Farm PTA (Parents & Teachers Association) on Friday 7^th October at 5.30pm. We hope the meeting will last around 20 minutes, after which there’ll be time for refreshments and a chat! Please come along to support us, share ideas and find out what we have planned for this year.

The PTA organises social and fund-raising events for children and parents/carers. We aim to raise money so that our children can be provided with extra materials, events and equipment that will enrich their school life. We are a sociable and informal group and we are looking forward to meeting lots of new faces this year!

All Booked Up!

Thanks to everyone who came to our Christmas Fair, or bought a cake or a book at one of our sales – your contributions have enabled us to spend lots of money on new books for the school.
